We are serving basic needs of local families, starting with hunger in our youth.
What We Do
RiseUp partners with local schools in Northwest Arkansas to provide supplemental nutrition for food-insecure students during weekends and holidays. We currently serve 200+ students on a weekly basis and have provided nearly 300,000 meals to local students since 2014.
“The objective we need to meet in our school is preventing hunger when kids aren’t at school, up to two meals per day. You (RiseUp) are delivering the tools to make that happen.”
— School Staff, Local Jr. High School
Childhood hunger is real, even in a bustling area like Northwest Arkansas. Feeding America estimates 14.4% of children under 18, in Benton County (Arkansas), are food insecure and only 82% of these children are eligible for federal nutrition programs.
14 out of 100 kids are hungry and 3 of them do not qualify for federal nutrition programs. RiseUp sees this as our call to action.
Our Journey
What started as a group of friends working together in a soup kitchen, has turned into a cause that unites teams and makes a difference in the community. Rise Up was founded in 2014 and to-date has donated almost 300,000 meals to students and families in Northwest Arkansas.
What we do is possible because of donations from companies and individuals in our communities. A very special thanks to students and staff at the schools for their efforts, ranging from food drives to packing the ‘snack packs’.
